The ache of the Bridegroom

My heart has been pierced with the aching of desire to be in the midst of all those, whom come to partake and experience one of the greatest days of my life.  My wedding day.  Yet this ache of knowing many will decline the invite.  For what ever reason or circumstance the denial of attendance.  Simply put, by choice, ‘No’.

My beloved Fiancé and I have been going through and trying to finalize our guest list.  The other day we started to narrow it down, making the very hard decisions of whom to invite and whom to not…then it hit.  My heart pierced with a heavenly reality.

Oh the ache and pain of my Bridegroom, Jesus.  Who’s desire is like the Fathers, that all might be saved.  The desire that everyone will be at the Wedding of the Lamb.  When Jesus is united forever with His Bride, the Church.  Yet knowing now that as He calls and invites everyone into that relationship, many will decline.  Many will reply ‘No’.  That His wedding will be much smaller than He has longed for.

Even worse, those whom He has pursued relentlessly, intentionally running away…standing Him up at the alter.

It breaks my heart to know that many in the Church believe that they will be there on that day…and yet will not be walking down that isle to be united with Jesus forever.  Those whom have followed a religion, a set of rules.  Without ever entering into a relationship…

7 “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed [are] those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” – Rev 19:7-9 NKJV

And here in lyes the call.

The Bride must make herself ready!

The heart breaking reality:

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ – Mat 7:21-23 NKJV

Its not about what you do.  But wether or not you know Him, and He knows you.

It is all about Relationship!  He is calling to you even now!  “Will you let me into your life?  Will you come and be with me?”

He has cried out to His father.  The desire of His heart:

20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; … 24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. – Jhn 17:20, 24 NKJV

The call has gone out.  How will you respond?
